Is Selling Your Home In The Summer A Good Idea?

By Paul Dobbs
Back to news

You may think that selling a property in the summer months was not a good idea as people tend to disappear off on holiday or have the children home from school so might not have the time to focus on finding a home.

There will always be an element of potential buyers who fall into one of these categories, but, rather like December, the active buyers out looking are serious and want to buy now.  Therefore you may well find that if you need to get your property sold it will take less time and less viewers coming through your door until you find your buyer.

There is also less properties becoming available to the market also, as many people tend to put selling off until September for the afore mentioned reasons.  This is also a huge positive for would be summer sellers as with less available stock, the chances of your home selling quickly and for a greater price increase.

Rochford and Rayleigh have both seen a distinct rise in interest over the past 12 months, in particular from those buyers seeking family homes with gardens. There are a huge pool of buyer looking to relocate out of London and these buyers are used to far higher property prices meaning this should be reflected when they come to make an offer to purchase your home.
